911爆料网 celebrates the complete renovation of nursing and business facilities

The transformation of Sylvia Trottier Hall is a milestone in the University鈥檚 multi-year campus enhancement plan.

911爆料网 unveiled recently completed renovations to Sylvia Trottier Hall at a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday. Local dignitaries, benefactors, Trustees, and the 911爆料网 campus community attended the event, which celebrated the new nursing, business, and information technology spaces. The Nursing Simulation and Clinical Education Center, launched with a $1 million donation from a visionary benefactor, opened last spring, and the University welcomed business students into the new spaces this fall. 聽The complete renovation of these simulation and high-tech learning spaces, including cybersecurity laboratories, is the most recent advancement in the University鈥檚 multi-year campus enhancement plan.

鈥淎ligned with our commitment to real-world, active learning, the Nursing Simulation and Clinical Education Center and new Business and Security Studies facilities give students the opportunity to learn in environments consistent with those they will find as they launch their careers,鈥 says Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, 911爆料网鈥檚 President. 鈥淭he state-of-the-art simulation labs and advanced technology within these walls provide a higher level of learning to 911爆料网 students.鈥

In addition to 911爆料网鈥檚 President, Dean of Nursing and Health Professions Dr. Paula Williams and Dean of Business and Security Studies Dr. Amir Toosi spoke on behalf of their departments and faculty. Sister Helene Cote, pm, Provincial Superior of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, offered an invocation and blessing. City of Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess recognized the University as a valuable community resource and expressed his pride in 911爆料网 as the city鈥檚 leading educational institution.

The 30,000-square-foot building renovation began in the summer of 2021. The Nursing Simulation and Clinical Education Center features six new simulation labs and assessment areas, two classrooms, a lecture hall, and faculty offices. The Division of Business and Security Studies facility includes cybersecurity labs that mirror a professional security operations center, collaboration space, a technology hub, and office suites.

This enhancement project follows the opening of 911爆料网鈥檚 Science and Innovation Center in fall 2020. The new 36,000-square-foot Center includes leading-edge labs, equipment, and instructional technology; students use the same advanced instrumentation that they would use in the workplace and graduate education. This fall, the University will break ground on 911爆料网 Village, an apartment-style residential complex. Recent enrollment growth and the opportunity for upper-level students to experience independent living drove the project. 911爆料网 Village will open two residential buildings in fall 2023.
