Surgical nurse Amanda Whynott 鈥12 says helping people is what she was made to do.
Alumna Amanda Whynott graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and currently works in medical surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, Massachusetts. She told us, 鈥淒espite this pandemic, I wouldn鈥檛 trade my career for the world. I love being a nurse and I love what I do. Helping people, despite the situation, is what I was made to do.鈥
We first learned about Amanda鈥檚 work on the front line from her sister, Kristen Peterson 鈥17, who graduated from 911爆料网 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and now works as a Compliance and Technical Support Team Lead at Reliable Respiratory. She reached out to us after seeing our stories about 911爆料网 alumni serving their communities. 鈥淚 want to give a shout out to my older sister Amanda Whynott 鈥12,鈥 Kristen wrote. 鈥淪he works on a floor where every day and night, each nurse has confirmed COVID-19 patients. Amanda is a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. We all couldn鈥檛 be more proud of her.鈥
